You’ll never worry about plugging your USB in upside down again, thanks to the MicFlip, the first fully reversible micro USB.
The device launched on Indiegogo 26 days ago and has already raised over $68,000 from over three thousand contributors. As for the $10 early bird special perk, Digital Journal points out in a report that it’s already sold out.
Devices can now be plugged into USB cables in any direction with MicFlip and users can avoid “risk of damaging components by accidentally forcing standard Type-A USB and microUSB plugs in the wrong direction,” WinnerGear, the production company behind the cable, states on its Indiegogo campaign page.
As the first product of its kind the MicFlip USB cable offers mobile users a whole new level of functionality. Thanks to the intelligent design, smartphone owners can now connect their next-generation devices in any direction. Rather than risk damaging components by accidentally forcing standard Type-A USB and microUSB plugs in the wrong direction, the MicFlip can be seamlessly inserted at any angle.
“We wanted to make the world’s most sought-after, efficient and durable USB cable,” WinnerGear stated. The 1-meter long cord features a “robust aluminum shell,” gold plated plugs, and a braided nylon cable.
We wanted to make the world’s most sought-after, efficient and durable USB cable – so as well as making the plug totally reversible, we covered the wires in an ultra-strong and flexible braided nylon lead.
In an effort to create the “world’s most sought-after” USB cable, the company surveyed people all over the world with this question: “What would you change about your micro USB cable?” An overwhelming 75 percent said they wished the plug at the end of their cord was reversible.
