Online Apple Store Redesigned And Unified

Apple Store

Apple has finally scrapped the store.apple.com sub-domain in favor of a unified shopping experience which utilizes www.apple.com and according to Engadget, they also dropped the “shopping cart” in favor of a “unified shopping bag.”

Having now merged the “official” Apple Store with their main website, online shoppers will no longer be forced to visit a separate landing page to make a purchase. Instead, consumers can now buy products without ever leaving the website.

An Apple spokesperson was quoted by TechCrunch as having said in a statement that the company’s new website “takes the very best of our existing site and our online store to give customers one simple destination to learn and buy without navigating between two different sites.”

We redesigned Apple.com knowing that our customers want to explore, research and shop in one place (…) The new Apple.com takes the very best of our existing site and our online store to give customers one simple destination to learn and buy without navigating between two different sites. We’ve also improved several of the site’s features to make shopping easier than ever for our customers.

The Independent‘s Andrew Griffin noted in a report published earlier today that the appearance of many of the webpages has been updated.

According to TechCrunch, the Apple website sees more than 1 billion visitors each year and the 40 countries around the world that use the website will see the updated version with its new unified shopping experience.

BuzzFeed News reported earlier this month that Apple TV is undergoing a major overhaul which the company intends to announce later this summer, according to their sources.
