Jep Robertson, a star of the hit American television series Duck Dynasty, recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview ahead of the release of his new book — The Good, the bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness — that he was molested in grade school by an older student.
The now 37-year-old claims that he was 6-years-old when he was molested by “an older girl” who was “real mean” and that a lot of “scary stuff” took place which was “tough” to deal with.
I was 6 and it was on a school bus and it was an older girl (…) Back then the high school students would ride on the same bus as the grade school. There was this girl there that was just real mean…I don’t know, but it was a lot of things took place — scary stuff. It was tough.
The father of four eventually revealed his dark secret to his wife and as of recent, the public at large.According to ET, he wrote in his upcoming book, which was co-written with his wife, that the girl who allegedly molested him “seemed sweet at first.” But after a while, she started taking his hands and pushing “the up under her shirt” and making him pull down his pants.
An older girl started sitting next to me. She seemed sweet at first. She’d come sit beside me, like a motherly figure almost. I remember her being sweet and taking care of me. I liked to sit in the back so she’d come sit with me (…) After a while the girl started doing strange things.” the story in the book continues. “She’d take my hands and push them up under her shirt and tell me I was tickling her. Then she started making me pull down my pants. It was awkward. I didn’t know what was going on, but I knew something wasn’t right.
Robertson indicated that he was afraid of girls following the molestation incident, however, his wife Jessica helped him through it by talking it out, ABC News reported.What are your thoughts on Jep Robertson’s claim of having been sexually abused as a child?
