Lindsay Lohan’s Community Service Questioned By Prosecutors

Lindsay Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, appeared in court in Santa Monica on Wednesday to submit proof that the actress completed her community service for her 2012 reckless driving charge. The prosecutor in the case is not convinced she actually did the work, however.

Chief Deputy City Attorney Terry White has demanded an investigation into Lohan’s community service hours, saying that court documents showing she completed 80 hours of community service in only 9 days is suspicious, according to People.

If this was Lindsay Smith, nobody would allow this… She got to shake hands with people, and that’s community service.

White says that Lohan is unfairly getting credit for service she claims to have completed while she was in London. According to White, Lohan is claiming credit for a meet-and-greet with fans of Speed-the-Plow, a play Lohan was doing in London last fall, USA Today reported.

Lohan got credit for 18 hours for meet and greets with fans who went to the play. Five meet and greets were listed in the court documents, with each fan hangout lasting three hours, according to TMZ.

White questioned how the actress had time for the community service considering Lohan was being treated for Chikungunya virus that she contracted over the holidays.

Superior Court Judge Richard Stone has given White until February 18 to verify Lohan’s community service hours. If prosecutors can prove that Lohan did not complete the hours as stated in the documents, she may serve jail time. White has said he will seek jail time if he can prove she did not complete her community service hours.
