Batkid Begins: A Wish Heard Around the World premiered on Saturday at the Slamdance Film Festival. According to a report by USA Today on Jan. 23, the documentary starred Julia Roberts and she also produced it. This is a documentary about a 5 year old boy who has cancer, although in remission now, and saved Gotham city. San Francisco changed part of the city to make a 5 year old little boy’s wish come true by Ms. Julia Roberts and the Make A Wish Foundation. The mayor was even involved and gave little Miles Scott a key to the city. The city was transformed into Gotham City and Miles had different missions he had to do to protect the city and the people in it.
Apparently, Ms. Roberts saw the original documentay and wanted to do a recap of it by making this child’s wish come true. Everyone was involved, including Twitter who followed him around all day, and even Ben Affleck and the President had something to say about little Miles protecting the city. According to Access Hollywood, Ben Affleck tweeted:
Batkid. Best Batman ever. #SFBatKid #MakeAWish @SFWish
President Obama even had this to say to Miles in a vine video:
Way to go Miles. Way to save Gotham.
