Rap mogul Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams were arrested on Wednesday in a two-state sting over their alleged theft of a female photographer’s camera in Beverly Hills last month.
Knight, 49, was picked up in Las Vegas and faces up to 30 years to life in prison if convicted due to his prior record for assault with a deadly weapon, CNN reported. Williams, 43, was arrested when he showed up for court in California for an unrelated assault case and faces up to seven years.
Prosectors said they will ask for Knight’s bail to be set at $1 million and $75,000 for Williams.
The pair are accused of stealing “celebrity photographer” Leslie Redden’s camera in Beverly Hills on September 5 outside of a studio named FilmOn. Alki David, the studio’s founder, argued that the victim started the problem.

Katt was attacked by a mad woman with a camera. A girlfriend of Katt’s quite rightly defended him, but there was no actual altercation.
The pair allegedly chased Redden down an alley, where Williams grabbed her camera. She sustained minor injuries. While police responded quickly, Knight and Williams were already gone, the Los Angeles Times reported. Police are still seeking a man and woman who were with the pair at the time.
The alleged run-in occurred just a week after Knight was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a nightclub shooting that left him with several bullet wounds. The unsolved shooting occurred on August 24 inside a party at 1Oak hosted by Chris Brown, New York Daily News reported.
Williams has been arrested several times in recent years, and he was due in court on Wednesday in connection with a July incident in Inglewood in which he allegedly pepper-sprayed a man and attempted to run him over. Two weeks before, Williams reportedly pulled a gun on someone in West Hollywood.
