Authorities have located the remains of what appears to be the sixth victim of last week’s wildfires in Northern California.
The body, which authorities believe to be 66-year-old Robert Taylor Fletcher, was located in the rubble of what ABC News reports to be a burned-out Lake County home.
Mr. Fletcher, whose home was destroyed in the blaze, was last seen on September 16, 2015.
The remains were located by sheriff’s officials in the Cobb area.
The discovery of the human remains raises the death toll in the incident to six.
Previously, three other bodies were found in the rubble and 61-year-old Robert Litchman of Lake County has been, according to officials, missing since Wednesday.
The three bodies reportedly belong to 65-year-old Bruce Beven Burns, 72-year-old Barbara McWilliams and 69-year-old Leonard Neft.
Mr. Neft, a former newspaper reporter, may have been trying to escape when he was killed, as his remains were found near his car, which was burnt.
McWilliams’ remains were discovered in her home in Anderson Springs and Burns’ remains were located on the grounds on which he lived– his brother’s recycling business in Lake County.
In a separate wildfire which took place in the Sierra Nevada foothills, two more bodies were discovered inside of homes destroyed by the blaze. The two that died, 66-year-old Mark McCloud and 82-year-old Owen Goldsmith, perished after refusing to evacuate their homes in Calaveras County.
The wildfire which burned through Lake County, which is located roughly 100 miles north of San Francisco, charred 118 square miles, The Associated Press reported via The Sacramento Bee.
