Flavor Flav Arrested In Las Vegas, Multiple Charges

Flavor Flav Arrested

The hip-hop artist known as Flavor Flav was arrested in Las Vegas early Thursday morning by the Nevada Highway Patrol after he was allegedly caught speeding through a 45mph zone doing 73mph in a black 2005 BMW, according to local authorities.

While the reality television star was initially pulled over for speeding, Perez Hilton reports that he was booked on a slew of charges including DUI, marijuana possession, having an open container of alcohol in his car, driving under a suspended license and having a bogus registration.

The incident, as TMZ reports, began when the police spotted a black BMW allegedly being driven 28 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

Flav, who first rose to stardom as a rapper in the hip-hop group Public Enemy, was born in Roosevelt, New York on March 16, 1959.

The 56-year-old Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton, Jr., tweeted last Friday about the death of blues legend B.B. King as he wrote, “Tough act to follow…”

Earlier this year, back in January, Flavor Flav pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a 2014 traffic stop which occurred while he was driving to his mother’s funeral, according to an Associated Press report published via The NY Daily News. At the time, he was arraigned on the felony charge of driving with a suspended license — a charge which he’s managed to obtain once more in his recent Vegas traffic stop which turned into five misdemeanor charges.

In other celebrity DUI coverage here at Immortal News, Bernard Pierce of the Baltimore Ravens was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol back in March of this year and Growns Ups movie star Nadji Jeter was arrested for a DWI back in January for allegedly driving while under the influence of marijuana.
