While some folks caught a glimpse of the ultralight LaVie laptops back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the Chinese multinational computer manufacturer didn’t release the LaVie Z and LaVie Z 360 in the United States until just the other day.
The laptops were first spotted for sale in the U.S. by Engadget in a report which indicated that both 13-inch systems resemble what was debut back in January at CES, however, the standard model weighs in slightly heavier than the 1.87 pound claim.
Presently, the LaVie Z has a listed web price of $1,699.99 on Lenovo’s online store where, after an instant savings of roughly two-hundred bucks, comes out to just under fifteen-hundred dollars.
The standard Z comes equipped with an Intel Core i7-5500U Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 4MB), 13.3″ QHD ‘Anti-Glare’ display (2560×1440), Intel HD 5500 graphics card, 8GB of LPDDR3-1600 memory, and 256GB of hard-drive space.
As for the battery, the super-light laptop comes equipped with a 6-cell Lithium-ion polymer battery which, according to the manufacturer’s website, is capable of providing up to 9-hours of battery life.
The LaVie 360 also comes standard with an Intel Core i7-5500U Processor, eight gigs of RAM, a 256 gig hard-drive and so on, however, where it differs is in its 13.3″ IPS Multi-touch 2560×1440 display which can, like its name indicates, rotate into tablet position in addition to functioning as a typical clamshell laptop. For the added functionality, the 360 fetches a high premium in comparison to the standard Z, as it has a web price of $1,849.99 on the manufacturer’s website.
