Nelly Has Been Arrested On Felony Drug Charges, Handguns Also Found On Bus

Nelly Arrested Drug Charges

According to the Highway Patrol in Tennessee, popular rapper Nelly has been arrested after they found marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia on a motor coach he was traveling on. He was charged with felony drug possession. The bus was pulled over because of not having the proper stickers placed in the windows. However, once the troopers got aboard the vehicle, they found the drugs in their possession.

ABC News was told by Scott Rosenblum, Nelly’s attorney, that his client was indeed on the bus and he was searched, as well as others that were with him. The smell of marijuana was supposedly discovered as one of the trooper stepped on the bus to question them about the stickers. They were traveling through Putnam County on Saturday morning when the highway patrol stopped them. They were on their way to St. Louis, which is Nelly’s hometown.

There were a total of six people who were traveling together on the vehicle, but for some reason, Nelly and one other man seemed to be the only two who were arrested. There were several handguns that were found as well as the drugs. Brian Jones had one of the handguns on him when this all occurred. Authorities said that the 44-year-old is a convicted felon and has been charged with possession of a handgun.

As for Nelly, whose real name is actually Cornell Haynes, his attorney thinks he will be free and clear very soon. His charge of felony possession of drugs may not hold. At least that is what Rosenblum says.

We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered

The New York Daily News had a little more detail on what was found on the motor coach. The drugs were supposedly in small Ziploc baggies as was found by the troopers. Crystal meth was also found in plastic bags. Those, along with the pistols, make for a very messy situation for the 40-year-old rapper.

Crystal meth is not something to mess with. Just last month, Immortal News reported that a meth lab was found inside of a Walmart in Indiana. That could have ended very badly as explosions have happened before when drug users cook meth. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this particular incident.

Do you think the drugs really belonged to Nelly?
