Ted Cruz Presidential Run

First-term Texas senator Ted Cruz (R) is scheduled to announce his intent to run for the president of the United States on Monday, the Houston Chronicle reported.

CNN, who confirmed the presidential bid with two of Cruz’s aides, indicated in a report that the senator was set to make his official declaration in Lynchburg, Virginia, at the largest Christian university in the world, Liberty University.

When the 44-year-old officially declares his intent to run for the Republican presidential nomination on Monday in Virginia, he’ll be the first candidate to have formally thrown his hat into the ring.

Cruz, whose speech will take place at a convocation ceremony at Liberty University, intends on launching his presidential bid without forming an exploratory committee, according to a advisers who spoke to Chron under the condition of anonymity as the official announcement had yet to have been made.

The advisers also indicated that the senator aims to raise between $40 million and $50 million throughout the duration of his primary campaign.

Liberty University, a private non-profit evangelical Christian school, was established by Jerry Falwell in 1971. In 2013, the Virginia-based school had an acceptance rate of just 22 percent.

Back in January of 2015, a report here on Immortal News indicated that the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, was leaving Fox News and his cable television show in order to make a decision about a potential presidential bid this spring.

The Guardian indicated in a report published today that Cruz had said in an MSNBC interview last week that he had been receiving “very encouraging” support regarding his presidential run.

The senator was in the state of New Hampshire last weekend, which is a state proven crucial to presidential aspirants due to its early primary.
