Madonna indicated in a recent interview with Billboard that while she has the read the “Fifty Shades of Grey” book, she didn’t find it very sexy and thought it contained “a lot of spanking.”
It’s pulp fiction. It’s not very sexy, maybe for someone who has never had sex before. I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing, and I was like, ‘Hmm, a lot of spanking.’ I also thought, ‘This is so unrealistic because no guy goes down on a girl that much.’
The “Like A Virgin” singer, who literally wrote the book on sex, referred to herself as a “hopeless romantic” while saying that she loves being in love. When asked if her views on sex had changed over the last few decades, she said that they hadn’t. She elaborated saying, “Sex is a wonderful, necessary part of life.”
The 56-year-old pop star has worked with the erotic novel’s author, E L James, as the two worked together on the There’s Only One Madonna (2001) documentary.
Madonna Louise Ciccone, who was born in Bay City, Michigan, had an estimated net worth of $500 million back in 2013. She’s been married twice, once to actor Sean Penn and then to director Guy Ritchie. She has a total of four children ranging in age with the youngest two being 9-years-old and the oldest, Lourdes, 18.
James said that she thinks Madonna is an “amazing artist who pushes boundaries” at the London premiere of Fifty Shades.
