Malia Obama might be following in the footsteps of her father, as she’s been spotted along with her mother, First Lady Michelle Obama, touring college campuses in the Big Apple, according to reports that also indicated social media lit up on Friday when the two were spotted on the campuses of Barnard College and Columbia University after being seen on a private tour of several NYU buildings.
A student at Barnard, 21-year-old Johanna Fuller, who snapped a photo of Malia while she was on campus said that the First Daughter “was all smiles and seemed like a really nice person.”

The 16-year-old daughter of U.S. President Barack Obama studies at Washington’s prestigious Sidwell Friends school.
Courtney Craig, a 21-year-old music and anthropology major at Barnard, said that Mrs. Obama “dined with other adults” that he didn’t recognize and that her daughter, Malia, sat separately from her mother at a nearby table with her friends. He indicated that there were “about 10 Secret Service agents” inside of the Community Food & Juice restaurant in which he spotted the presidential pair while dining.
(Michelle Obama) dined with other adults I did not recognize, and her daughter, Malia, sat at a separate table nearby with a group of her friends. There were about 10 Secret Service agents sitting inside the restaurant, and about seven big black SUVs outside.
President Obama made a reference to his daughter’s college hunt during a Friday appearance in Indianapolis in which he pitched his free community college proposal.
Malia is now at the age where she is looking at colleges (…) These days, I hear everybody is looking for fancy gyms and gourmet food and really spiffy dorms (…) I do know there was something on the menu that we called ‘roast beast,’ because we couldn’t really tell what kind of meat it was.
The NYU Local indicated in a report that Malia made headlines in January when a photo of her surfaced wearing a t-shirt which featured the logo of Pro Era, a Brooklyn rap collective.
