Google Is Paying For Your Movie On Chromecast For Valentine’s Day

If you are in the United States and an owner of Google’s Chromecast streaming device, you will be happy to learn that you can get a $6 gift credit toward a movie for Valentine’s Day. Although you will have to pay for your dinner and the gift you are giving your loved one for the day, at least your movie is paid for by Google. According to The Tech Portal on Feb. 7, it is easy to redeem your $6 credit toward a movie on your Chromecast. All you do is visit the Chromecast link, connect to the same wi-fi network that your Chromecast is connected to, verify the ID you use for your Chromecast account, and click on the redeem button. Doing these few simple steps will give you your $6 worth of credit for a movie from Google’s playstore.

Although it says that it doesn’t work outside of the United States, some people from the UK says it has worked for them although they only got to redeem 5 GBP worth of credit. Still, that isn’t a bad deal either.

This is a nice way for Chromecast to try to get ahead of competitors such as Roku. According to CNET, this is not the first time Google has given stuff away for Chromecast users. Apparently, they have given away enough stuff so far for the device to have paid for itself, a $35 value.

Now that you have your movie paid for, for Valentine’s Day, all you have to do is find a nice place to take your sweetheart to dinner and buy him or her a special gift to show them how much you really love them.
