If you watch ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ then you already know about her humor. According to a report by CBS News on Jan. 14, DeGeneres, fired back at a hater who said she is trying to brainwash young women who appear on her show and that she is also ‘celebrating her lesbianism.’ The hater in question who is writing about DeGeneres this way is pastor and author of the Christian Post, Larry Tomczak.
Ellen actually used her monologue section of her show, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to address these accusations of supposedly ‘celebrating her lesbianism’ and for trying to ‘brainwash’ the young women who appear on her show such as Taylor Swift and others. This is what Ellen had to say about this article posted on ‘The Christian Post’ titled, ‘Are You Aware of the Avalanche of Gay Programming Assaulting Your Home?’
First of all, let’s just break this down, I’m not ‘married,’ I’m married. That’s all.
Ellen DeGeneres married her wife Portia de Rossi in 2008.
DeGeneres also had this to say about the situation:
And Larry, I don’t even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism. I mean, I guess I do – it’s like that.
She said this as she pulled a party popper out of her blazer and setting it off and then said:
I’m gay!
DeGeneres then started to get serious and told her audience this:
The only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another. That is the message I’m sending out. I don’t have an agenda. I’m not here to brainwash anyone, but…
Then her stage manager handed her a spinning vortex and as she held it up to the camera and said:
Listen to the sound of my voice. Attention youth of the world: I want you to live your lives being exactly who you are. Be true to yourself—the most important thing is to be true to yourself. The second most important thing is that you wear Ellen underwear and only Ellen underwear.
According to Page Six, Ellen usually doesn’t pay any attention to these haters when they say these things but she felt the need to fire back at this one.
