Creed Singer Scott Stapp Threatened To Kill Obama, 911 Call Reveals

The drama surrounding Creed singer Scott Stapp continues with a new report saying he threatened to assassinate President Barack Obama.

In 911 tapes, Stapp’s wife, Jaclyn, and her sister tell a dispatcher that Stapp believes he is part of the CIA, according to CBS News.

He thinks they’re trying to kill him, and he has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that he’s a CIA agent and he’s supposed to assassinate Obama.

Jacyln says the singer printed out hundreds of CIA documents, put them in a bag and fled the home shirtless on a bicycle. The woman told the dispatcher that he is “very ill” and asked police to take him to a mental facility. Jaclyn said that Stapp suffers from paranoid schizophrenia but self-medicates.

Scott Stapp was hospitalized and placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold last month after he posted a video to Facebook saying that he was broke and had been robbed.

Jaclyn filed for divorce weeks ago, claiming Stapp’s drug use left him a “paranoid shell.” On Friday, Stapp lost custody of his three children when a Florida judge awarded sole physical and legal custody to his estranged wife, according to the Huffington Post.

The Secret Service, which investigates threats against the President and the First Family, told People that it is looking into the incident.

Following the release of the 911 call, Stapp defended himself against the allegations over the last few weeks in a long post on Creed’s Facebook page, which was later removed. In the post, Stapp said that he has not been using drugs or alcohol and he is not suffering from any mental health issues. He called the allegations that he threatened the President’s life “a joke.”
