Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber reunited for an evening when both attended the annual Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty on February 28, which took place after the 88th Academy Awards. USA Today noted in a report that Garber shared a photo of the two on his Instagram with the caption: “Jack and Sidney. Together again.”
The actors worked together for many years on their show Alias, where they played a father-daughter spy team, Sydney and Jack Bristow. Though their relationship was often tense on the hit show, their real-life friendship seems strong. Garber even officiated Garner’s wedding, when she married Ben Affleck in 2005.
According to a report in Entertainment Tonight, Garber got candid about his ex co-star’s love life at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, and told ET that Garner was handling the break-up in a “magnificent way” though she is going through a lot of “stress and pain”.
She’s dealing with a lot of stress and pain, and dealing with it in, I think, a magnificent way. I’ve always found her to be incredibly authentic. It’s part of why people, I think, are drawn to her, because she is real. She also has a great capacity for love. You know, her children are her passion. And so, all that said, she’s dealing with the situation, I think, miraculously.
Garner and Affleck broke up after it was revealed that the latter allegedly had an affair with the couple’s children’s nanny. Garner is on the March cover of Vanity Fair, where she reveals details about her marriage with Affleck.
ET reportedly asked Garber whether Affleck has read Garner’s lengthy interview in the magazine. Garber responded by saying he probably has, though he hasn’t ‘talked to him about it’. He went on to say that there is still a “great love” between the previously married couple.
I imagine he has. I saw him, but I haven’t talked to him about it. So, I hope he’s OK. She’s nothing if not respectful, and also, there’s still a great love between them.
