Indianapolis Police: Killer Of Pregnant Pastor’s Wife Caught On Video

Police have vowed to find the killer responsible for the death of a 28-year-old pregnant Indianapolis woman, Amanda Blackburn, who was shot in the head during a home robbery while trying to defend her 1-year-old son.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say that they’ve caught the suspect on not just one, but multiple surveillance cameras in the area. “We know who killed her”, said Indianapolis police Captain Craig Converse. “We have a picture but not a name.”

The suspect is described as an African American man, between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches in height. At the time of the murder, he was wearing a two-toned hoodie and light pants.

Converse said that the man attempted to conceal his identity by drawing his hood down over his face.

Though they do not currently have the name of the suspect, Police are confident that they will apprehend the man. Converse said that a photograph of the suspect will be released to the public soon.

“For those who killed Amanda – we are coming”, said Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter.

Amanda’s husband, Davey, left for the gym prior to the invasion. According to Major Eric Hench, IMPD’s assistant commander of investigations, the burglars had robbed a nearby house just minutes before Davey left. Police believe that when the burglars saw him leave the house, they saw another opportunity.

We believe that when Mr. Blackburn left to go work out, they saw an opportunity to burglarize another home.

USA Today reports that Blackburn did not die right away after being shot in the head. Blackburn, who was 12 weeks pregnant, was found critically injured inside her home. She died shortly after.

Legal experts say that the killer, or killers responsible could face 45 to 65 years in prison if caught and convicted for Blackburn’s death. The sentence will likely be enhanced due to the fact she was pregnant.

Hench said that evidence was left behind at the scene, and had a message specifically for the killer. “You left behind evidence. We will find you, and we will not stop until we get you”, he said.
