50 Cent Claims He’s Not A Homophobe, He Just Hates ‘Empire’

50 Cent

50 Cent learned the hard way to read before reposting. The rapper apparently shared a homophobic post about the TV show Empire on Instagram, but later recanted and said he didn’t agree with the message.

TMZ reports the rapper-turned-actor reposted a photo on Instragram that made fun of the show’s ratings, directly blaming the drop on the show’s “gay stuff.” 50 Cent shared the photo, which showed a picture of the Lyon family and read, “There are 3 million less viewers who tuned into last night’s #Empire episode!!! did you watch it??? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!”, on the social media platform on October 1.

50 deleted the post once he saw the anti-gay comments attached to the photo and his rep told TMZ the post is “not a reflection of his views at all.”

50 has made no secret about his feelings for Empire. The rapper has long been feuding with the show and made it publicly known that he hates it – mostly because he feels it’s inferior to his own show, Power, reports Hollywood Life.

The rapper might have gone too far this time with his public beef against the show. The rapper definitely has some backpedaling to do while he convinces the world he is not a homophobe.

The feud is not one-sided, however. During the second season premiere of Empire, Taraji P. Henson’s character, Cookie Lyon, referred to 50 Cent as “thirsty” on the show. 50 Cent retaliated by posting a video of himself on Instagram criticizing Cookie in which he claimed, “you know I hit that.”

That wasn’t the first time the rapper used his Instagram as a platform to dis other celebrities via video. Back in June, 50 Cent slammed Rick Ross over his arrest only days after posting a satirical video poking fun at Diddy.
