Augustus Sol Invictus: Florida Senate Candidate Sacrificed Goat, Drank Its Blood

Augustus Sol Invictus is 32-year-old attorney running for the U.S. Senate as the Florida Libertarian Party’s candidate and according to various reports, he’s not only admitted to sacrificing a goat and drinking its blood, but he’s also prophesied a “great war” within America– a revolution.

The very existence of his candidacy has caused the chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida, Adrian Wyllie, to resign while denouncing Invictus as a sadistic goat sacrificer who is trying to recruit neo-Nazis to the party and lead a civil war.

He is the absolute exact opposite of a Libertarian. He’s a self-proclaimed fascist. He’s promoting a second civil war (…) It’s absolute insanity. We must explain to people this is the opposite of Libertarians. This guy has no place in the Libertarian Party.

While Wyllie was quoted by the Orlando Sentinel as having referred to Invictus as “the absolute exact opposite of a Libertarian” and a “self-proclaimed fascist,” Invictus is not without response, as he’s reportedly written Wyllie’s remarks off as nothing more than a smear campaign in which he twists his words into lies.

According to the 32-year-old Senate candidate who changed his name to Augustus Sol Invictus — a Latin phrase which means “majestic unconquered sun” — he’s not a white supremacist, but there are white supremacists supporting his campaign. He also makes a point to note that his children, of which he has four, are Hispanic.

Instead of distancing himself from hate groups, the NY Daily News reports that Invictus, who has not revealed his given name, is “proud” of the work he’s done for the American Front (AF) — a white supremacist organization started in San Francisco back in the late ’80s.

It has been said that I associate with neo-Nazis and skinheads. You’re (expletive) right I do. I am a criminal defense lawyer, and I am proud of the work I have done for the American Front (…) Every Libertarian in America should be supporting them as victims of an overreaching Government, and for the record, I am proud to call them my friends.

As for starting a civil war, he claims that’s not in his agenda, but with a government already at war with its citizens, he’s certain that the situation will escalate.

The only question is when are the citizens going to start fighting back? I don’t think I’m the only person who sees a cataclysm coming, but I think I’m the only person saying it, and I think that scares people.

And while he insists that he does not advocate violence, he says that “citizens have the right to self-defense on government.”

You do not initiate force (…) If the government is waging war on its citizens, we as citizens have the right to self-defense on government.

Back on the topic of goat sacrifices, Invictus admittedly sacrificed a goat and drank its blood in an offering “to the god of the wilderness.” He performed the pagan ritual after having returned home from his trek across the United States, from central Florida to the Mojave Desert — a journey which he reportedly made on foot.

I did sacrifice a goat. I know that’s probably a quibble in the mind of most Americans (…) I sacrificed an animal to the god of the wilderness… Yes, I drank the goat’s blood.
