Nude photos of more than a hundred female celebrities, including Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, have been hacked and circulated online in what could probably be the biggest hacking scandal in recent times.
An anonymous hacker posted the images on online message board 4chan after hacking into Apple’s iCloud system, New York Daily News reported. The hacker also prommised to post more images and videos in the coming days, even an alleged sex video of Lawrence.
In an attempt to earn bitcoins, the hacker obtained and posted more than 60 private and risque images of Lawrence, plus other stars like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Kate Upton, and Kim Kardashian. Grande, however, said photos of her were fake.
Lawrence’s publicist confirmed the photo’s authenticity and condemned the intrusion and said her camp already reported the incident to the authorities, People reported.

This is a flagrant violation of privacy,
“The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” they added.
The hacker apparently took advantage of an iCloud glitch to get the photos, particularly the Apple iOS feature Photostream, Buzzfeed reported.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whose six private images were leaked, took to Twitter to comment on the hack.
“Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked,” she tweeted.
“To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves.”
