Astronaut Scott Kelly Tweets President Obama, Tim McGraw From Space

NASA spaceflight veteran Scott Kelly took some time out on Saturday to answer questions on Twitter.  After inviting followers to join him for a Q&A about his #YearinSpace, the 51 year-old astronaut responded to Tweets from fans while he orbited 155 miles above Earth, reports New York Daily News.

One Tweet in particular stood out to Kelly, perhaps because it was from President Barack Obama.

The president asked, “Do you ever look out the window and just freak out?”

“I don’t freak out about anything, Mr. President. Except getting a Twitter question from you,” Kelly replied.

Obama wasn’t the only famous person Kelly Tweeted with over the weekend. Billboard reports that country singer Tim McGraw tweeted a video teaser for his new song to NASA on Monday, saying the astronauts aboard the ISS might enjoy the song.

The space station responded and the banter continued back and forth. McGraw joked that perhaps they’d fly over his next concert.

Kelly responded to the singer, and the conversation continued.

Kelly also responded to some questions from his followers, including questions about how the astronauts shower on the space station, if they get ESPN in space, and if he has his own bedroom aboard the ISS, reports NBC.

This is Kelly’s fourth mission aboard the International Space Station. In March, Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko embarked upon a year long stint in space to test the body’s reaction to extended spaceflight.

In May, the ISS made room for an additional docking port intended for commercial spacecraft use.
