Uber To Hand-Deliver Xiaomi Mi Note Phones To Customers In Asia

If you’re in the market for a new Xiaomi smartphone, but you don’t want to leave your house to purchase the device, then you’re in luck – at least if you live in Malaysia or Singapore.

Uber has partnered with Xiaomi for a one day promotion to hand deliver the Xiami Mi Note smartphone to consumers. The promotion is exclusive to Uber customers in Southeast Asia, who will be able to buy the phone one day ahead of the official release date next Tuesday.

Ordering the phone will be as simple as ordering a vehicle using the Uber app. Users will simply select the “Xiaomi” option in the app to order the Mi Note, and the phone will arrive “within minutes,” reports Slash Gear.

The Mi Note features a 5.7 inch screen, 3GB RAM, a quad-core Qual-comm Snapdragon 801 2.5Ghz processor, and a 3,0000mAh Li-ion battery. The Xiaomi Mi Note will run you around $569, and is designed to compete with the iPhone 6 Plus, CNET reported.

“We are always looking to compete within these niches and price our product competitively,” said Steve Vickers, general manager for Southeast Asia Xiaomi.

At half the price of the iPhone 6 Plus, it is still value for money. As the industry moves, and there are different niches within the market. We are always looking to compete within these niches and price our product competitively.

Meanwhile, back in the US, Uber recently released a parody app poking fun at New York City Mayor de Blasio in response to his hiring freeze on their drivers.
