Nestle Employs Nude Models To ‘Turn Heads’ In New Ad Campaign

Coffee Mobile

On Wednesday, Nestle launched a new all-digital advertising campaign with nude models and actors serving coffee au naturel to unsuspecting customers in a coffee shop in New York, AdWeek reported.

In order to produce the experimental ad campaign, the company’s digital advertising agency, 360i, took over an Irving Farm Coffee Roasters shop in New York on April 24 with scantily clad baristas wearing nothing more than body paint.

The campaign, which the Swiss multinational food and beverage company launched to promote their Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss brand, was drafted with the intent of turning heads on social media under the hashtag #NaturalBlissCafé, 360i told AdWeek.

Fox News reports that Nestle’s Natural Bliss All-Natural Coffee Creamer, which contains no preservatives, was first launched back in 2011 and each of the brand’s flavors contain just five ingredients:

  1. Milk
  2. Cream
  3. Sugar
  4. Salt
  5. Natural Flavors

The all natural, preservative free creamer’s new marketing campaign is geared towards millennials.

In explanation of why the models and actors were performing their roles as baristas in the nude, a barista wearing a painted-on apron explained, “So we are the all-natural cafe, as is our creamer.”

While the reactions of patrons visiting the coffee house that day varied from puzzled looks to full-blown laughter, CNBC reports that some of the New Yorkers visiting the store that day were more surprised by the free coffee they received than the nude baristas who served them.

Nestle, which is headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, was founded in 1905 by George Page, Charles Page and Henri Nestle. In 2014, the company, which is the largest food company in the world by measure of revenue, was ranked #72 on the Fortune Global 500.
